Moonhost

Terms of Use

Effective date: 13 October 2026

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Moonhost app. Moonhost is published by an individual developer, referred to here as “the developer of Moonhost”, “we” or “us”. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Moonhost only with the agreement of a parent or guardian; the Moonhost Pass must be bought with an adult’s Apple Account.

2. What Moonhost is

Moonhost is a voice narrator, a game master, for in-person Werewolf and Mafia game nights. One phone or iPad sits in the middle of the table. It deals the roles, tells everyone when to close and open their eyes, wakes each role in turn, keeps the discussion timer and announces the results. It is for entertainment among people sitting at the same table. It is not an online game, and there is no gambling or play for money in it.

The story is fiction, a mild fantasy in which night falls and someone does not wake up. Nothing in it is graphic. Moonhost follows the classic rules of the two games, and each role’s ability is shown in the app. Werewolf and Mafia are traditional party games; Moonhost is not affiliated with the publisher of any boxed game.

3. Licence and Apple’s EULA

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store’s Usage Rules.

Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) also applies to your use of the app. These Terms add to it. If they conflict, the Standard EULA prevails to the extent of the conflict. As the Standard EULA states, Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and we, not Apple, are responsible for its maintenance and support and for any claims relating to it.

4. What is free, what is the Pass

Free, for good: classic Werewolf and classic Mafia with their standard roles (Villager, Werewolf, Seer, Healer, Hunter and Witch; Civilian, Mafia, Don, Detective and Doctor), the standard narrator voice, and tables of 4 to 24 players.

The Moonhost Pass adds: the extra roles (Bodyguard, Elder, Jester, Maniac and Courtesan) and extra narrator voices. New roles and voices may be added to the Pass over time.

Completely free in Ukraine and in Ukrainian. If the App Store country of your account is Ukraine, or the narrator speaks Ukrainian, every role and voice is unlocked, no purchase is offered and there are no ads. Nothing in these Terms about purchases applies to you then.

There are no ads anywhere in Moonhost.

5. Purchases

Where the Pass is offered, it is bought through Apple’s In-App Purchase and charged to your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy; the US prices below are for reference and vary by country. We never see your payment details. A purchase that is waiting for approval (Ask to Buy, for example) may be charged later, when it is approved. To check what you own, the app uses RevenueCat, as the Privacy Policy explains.

Refunds

Apple handles payments and refunds, and any right of withdrawal the law gives you is exercised with Apple. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.

Restoring

If you reinstall the app or change device, Restore purchases in the app’s Settings, in the Moonhost Pass section (it is also on the purchase screen), brings back what you bought with the same Apple Account.

When a subscription ends

The Pass roles and voices lock again. The classic game stays free, and your saved groups and settings stay as they were.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Content and trademarks

The app’s texts, recordings, voices, sounds, illustrations and design belong to the developer of Moonhost or its licensors and are protected by law. The names you type for players are yours and stay on your device.

“Werewolf” and “Mafia” are the names of traditional party games. Any other names and trademarks of game publishers belong to their owners, and Moonhost is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

8. Playing safely

9. Availability and changes to the app

The game works without an internet connection. Checking and restoring purchases needs one and depends on Apple and RevenueCat. We may change, add or remove features, roles and voices, and we may stop offering the app. If we discontinue something you paid for, we will act fairly towards you, in line with Apple’s rules and the law.

10. Disclaimer

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the app will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that a game will run exactly as you expect.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights that the consumer law of your country gives you and that cannot be set aside by agreement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data kept on your device. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the Moonhost Pass in the twelve months before the claim.

These limits do not apply to liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intent or gross negligence.

12. Termination

You can stop using Moonhost at any time by deleting the app; cancel a running subscription first (section 5). We may end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms. Sections 7, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply afterwards.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer’s place of residence, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live, which continue to apply to you. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim before the courts of that country. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under those laws.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms when the app or the law changes. We will change the effective date above and, for a significant change, tell you in the app before it takes effect. A change never alters the price or the length of a period you have already paid for.
